The Power of Starting Where You Are
You don't need the perfect plan. Just a willingness to begin.
There’s this quiet lie that often lives in the back of our minds:
"If I just had more time. If I were younger. If I had more money, more energy, more clarity… then I could finally start." But here’s the truth: You don’t need perfect conditions. You just need permission to start from exactly where you are.
That permission? You don’t have to wait for it. You can give it to yourself.
I know this because I used to wait, too.
I spent years feeling like I had missed my window. That maybe the big dreams were for other people. But something shifted when I realized I didn’t need to be further along. I just needed to begin again—this time, with the wisdom I didn’t have the first time around.
And when I stopped trying to start perfectly, I finally started honestly.
So wherever you are today—burned out, overwhelmed, hopeful, hesitant—just know this:
You’re not behind. You’re just becoming.
You don’t need to catch up. You just need to keep going.
This week’s prompt:
Write one sentence about something you’ve been afraid to start.
Then write another sentence about why you deserve to try anyway.
I’d love to hear what you come up with. Hit reply if you feel like sharing.
And if you want a creative companion along the way—you know where to find me.
Talk soon,
Jason
P.S. Big things are coming. Next week, I’ll be sharing something I’ve been quietly building that might just change how you approach your Second Act. Stay tuned.
